Are you looking for the opportunity to play a part in one of the biggest and most exciting creative projects in a generation?

If you are, Festival UK* 2022 working title is looking for a meticulous and inventive graphic designer to help deliver an amazing celebration of creativity, which is taking place next the year throughout the UK and aims to reach millions of people globally.

The Festival has commissioned 10 major cross-sector projects, involving unprecedented collaborations between scientists, technologists, engineers, artists and mathematicians (STEAM) from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. With plans to announce details later this year, the UK-wide programme will include live events, digital activity and participation and learning opportunities.

With a successful track record of producing lively and engaging design for digital and offline, you'll be part of a dynamic team and bring experience and enthusiasm to the role. In helping make the Festival happen, you'll also be working alongside some of the most forward-thinking creative minds, drawn from a huge variety of backgrounds and now developing their 10 extraordinary project commissions.

  • Create a range of high-quality cross-platform digital and offline design collateral and assets in line with the Festival's brand guidelines.
  • Support the production of printed materials, delivering to agreed deadlines and budget.
  • Ensure consistent brand identity across assets and channels.
  • Ensure artwork reflects and is accessible to Festival UK* 2022's diverse global audiences.
  • Coordinate work with project teams to deliver additional design where required, including briefing, feedback and sign-off.
  • Help to build and raise the profile of the new Festival brand and the 10 creative commissions, promoting them to a global audience through visual assets.

Skills and Experience


  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Professional experience gained in a design studio or agency, in-house, or substantial freelance.
  • Taking ideas from concept to finished product whilst driving forward creativity.
  • Use of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop and Premier Pro.
  • Content management systems and digital asset management systems.


  • Project management.
  • Relevant experience within the arts or events sectors.
  • Online editing and content creation for multiple digital channels.

Location: This role is based in Birmingham, England, and requires the successful candidate to be office based full-time.
Salary: £30,000-35,000 per annum
Proposed Start Date: ASAP
