We are working with a valued and established client who is looking to recruit a Registered General Nurse for their private Care Home in Gateshead.

The home offers its own hairdressing salon, a welcoming foyer, and bar area where family and friends can meet and enjoy a coffee with access to an enclosed garden.

You will be joining a purpose built 65-bed home which is providing a high standard of care offering general and dementia care for residential and nursing, where each individual is treated with respect and dignity.

About you

* Qualified RGN with a valid NMC pin number

* Previous experience working in a Care Home environment is desirable but not essential.

* Satisfactory DBS Check and check against ISA list

* A confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Main responsibilities

As a RGN you will organise and plan work schedules taking into consideration residents’ needs and priorities and provide highest possible levels of care by supporting/assisting residents, when required, with all aspects of daily living.

Liaise with external professional’s like social workers and GP’s.

Ensure individualised resident documentation is completed and recorded accurately in a timely manner.

Assist Residents in all aspects of their care needs (physical, emotional, and spiritual). Provide supervision and attention when needed, ensuring Residents retain their comfort and dignity.

Complete, observe & review care planning needs for Residents, and complete written daily records as instructed and in line with the Company’s policies and procedures.

Carry out medication administration in line with Policy, including ordering, returns and reviews with GP and other health professionals.

You will work appropriately with your line manager in all matters and that he/she is notified on any matter that has caused, or has the potential to cause, harm to anyone in our care or any member of staff or any issue that significantly affects the continuing quality of service delivery.
