ESS Recruit’s client is one of Scotland’s best known exporters of Scottish Salmon products, serving clients worldwide. The company is fully engaged in all stages of the Value Chain; from smolt production through Freshwater, Marine farming to Processing, as well as Sales and Marketing activities. They employ over 650 staff across remote and rural communities and are passionately committed to the environmental, cultural and economic sustainability of rural Scotland. The business has massively invested in their freshwater farms and plant equipment and now needs to recruit an Electrical Engineer or Technician to join the technical team in the beautiful North West Scottish Highlands.

Reporting into the Engineering Coordinator North, the Electrical Engineer or Technician will primarily take responsibility for electrical asset care of land-based plant and equipment. You will help initiate Continuous improvement, RCA and proactive Preventative Maintenance. The job holder will also be responsible for developing the PPMs to Minimise downtime and Supporting CAPEX projects to support the sites. Whilst primarily based at a new site / plant in Applecross / Loch Kishorn there might be occasional travel to other sites and some mechanical work is to be expected. Key responsibilities include:

First point of contact for all Engineering requirements at sites.
Accountable for tracking engineering issues and accurately reporting cause and actions to close out.
Compile weekly reports and send to the engineering Co coordinator.
Ensure departmental compliance with all Health and Safety and technical requirements.
Assist the engineering coordinator/ Admin in the creation of an asset register to drive future capex. The relevant candidate is ideally a Time Served Electrician or has studied to HNC/HND level in Electrical Engineering. We would ideally like to hear from candidates who have 17th or 18th Edition Electrical Engineering accreditation. This will suit candidates from a range of industry backgrounds including Maintenance Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, Equipment Engineers or Equipment Technicians from FMCG (food and drink), manufacturing, marine engineering or indeed perhaps the Armed Forces . Typical electrical equipment you know will include; control panels; pumps; motors; plant and facilities electrical controlled systems; compressors; heat pumps and other heavy plant.
