Assistant Accountant Responsibilities: Working as part of the management accounts team you will support the Accountants through a variety of tasks, both routine and ad-hoc, including: Undertaking nominal ledger reconciliations Preparing aspects of the management accounts to trial balance stage Assisting with working capital management and reporting Provide support to the Sales and Purchase Ledger teams with complex issues and when cover is required. This may involve some time supervising a more junior member of staff. Mobile Plant Mechanic / Mobile Plant Fitter Location: Exeter Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 + VAN + Fuel Card Overtime: Available at higher rate Rota: Monday - Friday DAYS My client, a large heavy plant hire company, is looking for a qualified and experienced Mobile Plant Mechanic / Mobile Plant Fitter to join their workshop fitter team. The Mobile Plant Mechanic / Mobile Plant Fitter will be based in Exeter area. The Mobile Plant Mechanic / Mobile Plant Fitter will be working on a range of heavy plant vehicles and machinery ranging from 1.5t mini diggers up to 20t excavators, as well as dumpers, rollers and telehandlers. The main responsibilities of the Mobile Plant Mechanic / Mobile Plant Fitter will include; Routine maintenance of heavy plant vehicles and machinery Repairs as necessary to ensure hire equipment is fit for purpose PDI inspection work Safety LOLER inspections. The Role Working a variety of infrastructure and non-infrastructure schemes, the Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for controlling of costs, maximising value, minimising future liabilities and focussed on providing clients value for money. Duties include: Implementing and developing commercial KPI’s, incentives and improvement targets for the Delivery Alliance, Engineering and wider business as appropriate. Managing improvements to contract documentation, contract letting and management of contracts. Production of first, second and third tier delivery provider’s performance data to support contract reviews. Development of performance specifications and cost models for K7 procurement and beyond Maintenance and uploading of inflation indices and quality checking of data and entry into the Engineering Estimating System. Analysis of all costs in the Engineering Estimating System whilst developing new cost models Develop expertise in the suite of the New Engineering Contracts (NEC3 & NEC4). Estimating input to the CEDAR process, liaising with the cost consultants to ensure anomalies in findings are resolved and that appropriate target setting is achieved. Develop and implementation of procedures for the control of the risk money attached to project budgets. Develop expertise in Whole Life Cycle costing and Carbon accounting and contribute to developing and supporting related business processes The Ideal Quantity Surveyor: You will have the ability to understand and implement cost controls in all the key stages of projects as well as the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
