Due to continued growth, a need has arisen to provide cover as our Accounts Assistant, for illness and maternity on a Fixed term 14 Month Contract. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy but friendly accounts team providing cover in the Purchase Ledger and then Sales Ledger teams within our growing Shared Services finance team based at Exeter Land Rover. The team serves several group dealerships of different brands in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. The successful candidate will have the privilege of moving with the team into our new state of the art Jaguar Land Rover dealership which is currently under construction and opens in July 2018 and, for an outstanding candidate, there is the chance that a permanent opportunity may arise. (8.30am to 5.30pm) Workplace pension Life insurance Employee discounts Accounts Assistant Responsibilities: Purchase Ledger responsibilities Process Invoices and ensure payment is actioned within Supplier & Group Terms Reconcile Supplier Statements Review & Control Creditors Ledger Process Ad Hoc Payments Sales Ledger role responsibilities Review, report and resolve cash & vehicle debtors including liaison with operational Staff Debtor collection Various debtor reporting, including statements and other ad hoc reports Processing of cash and bank reconciliation Process & post warranty receipts Support the accountants to prepare and close sales ledger, reconciling back to nominal ledger for accuracy on working day 3 Accounts Assistant General Responsibilities Work directly with both the Management Teams and the Accounts Team, to ensure that the assets of the businesses are managed in their most efficient and effective manner Provide reports for consideration by Directors and Senior Management Assist the Franchise Accountants in full involvement of all financial aspects of the dealerships working alongside the dealership management teams and Head Office Accounting Team’s support functions Maintain clear and concise accounting records Advise the Franchise Accountants, Directors and Senior Managers of any known financial risk Ensure that all systems and procedures in place within the business comply with current legislation and Group policy Maintain professional relationships with all internal and external customers The ideal Accounts Assistant will have: Experience of working within a busy accounts team Good inter-personal, organisational and communication skills Flexible, willing, “can do” approach.
