This is an exciting opportunity for a Time Served Welder The role is to weld metal components to produce finished goods that will be susceptible to all forms of post weld inspection/NDE. The successful candidate will be able to complete a preproduction multi pass weld qualification test piece on a single bevel, overhead plate weld using the GMAW process, understand and apply welding techniques. You will also have the ability to read drawings / data sheets and have experience semiautomated welding processes. Your job will be to manually weld steel parts (carbon steel, high tensile steels, hardened & stainless steels) using parameters set out by welding procedures; using predominately manual gas shielded metal arc processes (bare wire & flux core processes) to BS EN 156141 and BSEN287 standards and predetermined procedures. Additionally you will be required to grind off clean weld joint of work pieces prior to welding and use disc grinders and chippers to smooth out, weld, or grind parts post welding. Rates of pay are £13.66 on dayshift, £18.16 on nightshift with overtime paid at time and a half after 40hrs.
