Whether those resources are collected by our vehicles from a primary school in Kent or delivered into our ERF in Dunbar we transform ‘waste' into the items and energy that society will need tomorrow. It's at our Runcorn ERF that we currently have an exciting opportunity to join us on an Engineering Apprenticeship. We'll work with you and develop you to become a highly skilled maintenance technician or engineer who'll help to maintain our state of the art electro/mechanical systems used in our ERFs. Our Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme will take approximately four years to complete whereby you'll also benefit from vocational training as well as study for a Technical Certificate at a local provider. During this time, you'll become qualified to carry out planned preventative maintenance; general maintenance of equipment; modifying and testing; inspecting condition-based monitoring and identifying faults within our systems. Becoming our Engineering Apprentice will require commitment to a comprehensive training programme, ‘on the job' training and the completion of a portfolio of evidence to support an NVQ Diploma (or equivalent). Therefore, we're looking for someone who has a ‘can-do' attitude, a flexible and proactive approach to tasks alongside a keen willingness to learn and the drive to succeed. As our Engineering Apprentice, you'll have, or expect to achieve, five GCSEs (or equivalent) which must include English, Maths, and a Science at Grade C or above as well as two further GCSEs at Grade C or above. You'll also have a good standard of IT skills and/or Microsoft Office knowledge. This is an exciting time to join Viridor and our fast-growing business. We are looking for enthusiastic, committed individuals with a desire to develop and succeed. You will be required to deliver a high standard of customer service. Able to work under pressure, you must also be able to resolve any customer complaints to achieve a satisfactory outcome. You’ll also ensure high standards of cleanliness whilst ensuring at all times that legal requirements are strictly adhered to. You must be able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week. Our Apprenticeships: The Apprenticeships last for a minimum of 12-15 months and will enable you to develop through a structured training programme. As an Apprentice with Marston’s, you will gain a nationally recognised qualification, giving you an ideal grounding for a career in the hospitality industry. Learning is all on-site, so there is no need for our Apprentices to attend college, and our Apprentices are all paid national minimum wage, which is above the standard Apprentice rate.
