You will lead the catering service and small team to provide high quality, nutritious and delicious fresh food to all patients, visitors and staff. The Candidate: You will have a minimum of 5 years experience of cooking, with a Diploma in Catering Management or equivalent, as well as City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Level 3. Ideally you will have worked within a healthcare environment and managed a team of catering staff. You will need to have excellent communications skills, possessing a cheerful and positive character, able to engage with clinical staff and patients, as a key member of the extended clinical team. The service is dedicated to providing innovative, high quality care and treatment for service users with challenging and complex needs, in order to enable their recovery and re-engagement with the community. The Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is a specialist provider of complex mental health services, providing clinical excellence in our eating disorders, adolescent, rehabilitation and PICU services. We are looking to recruit a permanent and full time Chef to work at The Priory Hospital, Cheadle Royal. . The main focus of the role is to assist with the provision of a catering service within Cheadle Royal with particular emphasis on the planning, preparation, cooking and serving of meals. As part of the catering team you will ensure that the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards. All Chefs are required to supervise catering staff ensuring their quality of work. Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation in the absence of the Head Chef, assisting in the research and creation of new menus. Applicants will have at least two year's experience of working within a professional kitchen; an NVQ2 or equivalent or qualified by experience in catering together with a basic qualification in food hygiene. The successful candidate will be required to work 5 over 7 days, shift pattern 10am - 6pm and occasionally 8am - 4pm. Applicants will hold a current full UK Driving Licence. Benefits include Annual leave entitlement of 33 days (includes 8 bank/public holidays), with additional leave for long service, a contributory pension.
