THE ROLE I am seeking an INTERMEDIATE QUANTITY SURVEYOR who is keen to train as a Claims Consultant to to join a firm in their Bristol office. There will be a need for some international travel as required by the projects. My client is working on claims and disputes for oil & gas, power, civils and building projects. Good training given in claims and disputes for someone with a few years solid site based quantity surveying and who has had some involvement in claims and who is keen to progress their career. THE CLIENT My client is a large firm of claims and dispute resolution consultants. They have offices in the UK and abroad. My client works on Claims and Dispute Resolution in the Building, Civil Engineering, Power and Oil & Gas industries. They provide a range of services to help their various clients by doing dispute avoidance, early resolution of contentious matters, reaching a fair settlement over disputes and more. THE CANDIDATE You will need to be a Degree qualified Quantity Surveyor with a few years experience gained working for a main contractor or large civil engineering or building contractor. You may also be chartered with the RICS or CIOB or working towards such. You may also have started or be interested in doing further qualifications in construction law. Ideally you will have gained around three years or more experience of site based quantity surveying in particular on large scale projects. You must have gained good QS experience and ideally you will have gained at least a small amount of experience helping with a claim. You will have good IT skills and good experience. You will have the opportunity to progress your career and to take further specialist construction law qualifications. Projects could be world wide so you will need to be prepared to do some international travel, mainly short term but there will be opportunities of working abroad too. Looking to hire existing brokering teams and senior individuals who have a proven track record for any of their internal desk below Cash Equity Sales Trading -(Urgent) Equity Derivatives Broking Desk Fixed Income Sales & Convertibles Desk (Broker Dealing & Agency brokering) FX Sales (Agency Broking-end clients) Real Estate Broking Desk Structured Product Solutions desk Financial Futures & Option Desk (ideally a team) Commodities Desk (Energy, Agriculture, LME,etc) Swaps (Agency broking) US equity derivatives, US cash equities or US IR derivatives (ideally you will already be NY based for these particular roles) Our client is flexible on structuring an attractive financial package for all suitable candidates but you must be able to demonstrate to them a good level of revenue generation per year, portable client base and preferably already working in a brokerage environment but now looking for a better deal/ set up support from management.
