Vacancy Number 134695 Are you an ambitious Nursery Teaching Assistant with ASD Experience? SANZA Teaching Agency is working exclusively with a twoform entry Primary School who is seeking to a Teaching Assistant with Early Years experience to join their Nursery team. This is fulltime role, starting on Monday, 16th April and running until at least the end of the school year (July 2018) or longer, depending on funding. Your contractual hours are 8.30am 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. Your role will be primarily work with a fouryearold boy who has a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The successful candidate will also be expected to work as part of the Nursery team to support the Early Years Goals for all the children in the setting. The Pupil The pupil attends Nursery fulltime, Monday to Friday, from 8.55am to 3.30pm. The pupil has significant speech, language and communication delays related to his ASD which acts as a barrier to his learning and his inclusion within the Nursery setting. This student nonverbal and has significant difficulties interacting with other children and adults. The Role The role will include: oLiaison with the Nursery teacher and Early Years Educators to plan and deliver a timetable of daily learning, communication and playbased activities tailored to the pupils needs. oPreparing visual and multisensory resource to support the childs learning oSupporting the pupil to actively engage on the carpet during teacher input oSupporting pupils Social Skills development following strategies provided by SALT, Occupational Therapy, Queensmill and Inclusion Manager oMonitoring the childs progress and reporting to the Class Teacher and Inclusion Manager oContribute to targetsetting meetings and the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment process oCommunicate with parents at the start and end of the school day oLiaise with outside professionals such as Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Queensmill ASD Outreach teacher Professional Experience oEarly Years experience within a Nursery or Reception setting. oKnowledge and experience of supporting children with ASD and speech, language and communication delays. oSound understanding of Autism and its related difficulties social, emotional, behavioural, speech & language, sensory processing, cognitive etc. oKnowledge and training in PECs and / or Makaton is desirable and other specialist ASD strategies (e.g. TEACCH) Personal Skills oAble to work effectively within a team oGood communicator oSelfmotivated oTimemanagement oComputer skills For more information about this opportunity, please contact Liza Al Sady @ SANZA Teaching on ##### ######or email your CV to #####@######.### Sanza Recruitment is a Sunday Times Top 100 employer stopping at nothing to ensure our candidates, clients and employees come first.
