You will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process. Your work will be of a collaborative nature with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of the policies and procedures of the practice. Full-time, 10 sessions over 8.am to 6:30 core hours, and occasional extended hours. We are open from 8.00am to 6:30pm with some early mornings a late on a Monday and Saturday mornings. You should hold a clean, valid and full UK driving licence. We would consider applications from experienced overseas PAs to continue to build the PA post in the practice. The practice are keen supporters of new healthcare professionals in Primary Care and look forward to hearing from you. SOMETHING ABOUT ME I am a very sociable man in my thirties with learning disabilities, living at home with my family in Newtown. I employ Personal Assistants to act as support workers to enable me while carrying out activities. Experience is not necessary, though a background in this work would help. I get on with persons of all ages and genders and will consider all applications. I like to go out and about visiting local attractions, walking, going for coffee, to the cinema, shopping plus other various activities and days out. PLACE OF WORK Based from my home, but mainly involves getting out and about in the community, plus sometimes in my home and occasionally the PA’s home for indoor activities. PURPOSE OF THE JOB The purpose of the job is to help me to maintain my independence and safety in accessing the community. I require support from a responsible person to assist me in my daily routines and to go out and about. The job would involve supporting me mainly during days, plus occasional evenings. A car user would be essential for this job in order to take me out and about. HOURS OF WORK The hours of work will be 6-8 hours every other weekend. This would essentially involve going out for the day Extra hours would be available on occasions, including evenings which would be agreed mutually. This is a very flexible job in order to work together within our own availability and lifestyles and that of the PA. RATES OF PAY £9.50 per hour. Mileage paid of 40p per mile, when employees use their vehicle for the purpose of their work (taking me out). This would be subject to agreement and limits.
