Part time HR Business Partner working on a temporary basis to cover a permanent job. This will be until the end of 2018, and if of interest, you will have the opportunity to apply for the permanent post. Starting after the August Bank Holiday, you will be working on a part time basis of 22.5 hours per week. This must be over 3 days, which are completely flexible. Your key purpose of the role will be to support the delivery of an effective range of HR services to managers and staff throughout the business, whilst delivering the key business priorities. You will be advising all levels of managers within the organisation, promoting core values and objectives, which enable the facilitation of cultural change. In addition to this, you will be supporting with and managing projects that cover a wide range of HR subjects. Although a good generalist would be ideal for this opportunity, someone with experience in designing and delivering training on HR related topics would be an advantage to this busy team. Proactively manage HR casework across a broad range of issues to ensure timely and cost effective outcomes are delivered in keeping with the business policies and procedures. Lead and/or participate in the job evaluation scheme with support from colleagues as required. Lead and/or participate in agreed corporate projects as determined by the Senior HR Business Partner/Head of HR. Undertake internal consultation and external benchmarking to identify opportunities for continuous service improvements and increased customer satisfaction. Undertake negotiations with Unison (and employee representatives as required) on policies and procedures relating to employment, with support from senior colleagues where necessary Provide professional advice to managers and staff on all aspects of employment law and terms and conditions of employment, including advice on public sector developments. Develop and produce clear and concise policies and procedures in line with employment legislation, best practice and operational issues/changes. Support the Senior HR Business Partner in reviewing and procuring HR service contracts, to ensure that they are procured in accordance with policies and that regular performance monitoring takes place to ensure excellent service delivery standards are achieved and maintained and that the business receives excellent value for money. Work in partnership with colleagues to design and deliver appropriate learning and development interventions which support the workforce development programmes. Undertake such work as the Senior HR Business Partner may determine is compatible with the responsibility levels of the post. Key skills and experience; HR generalist with experience of designing and delivering training related to HR topics Previous experience of managing multiple projects Ability to support with and guide mangers with succession planning, capability, disciplinary, grievance, welfare issues, redundancies, sickness absence concerns etc. Knowledge of all current legislation and policies Experience of undertaking negotiations with Unison (and employee representatives as required) on policies and procedures relating to employment Able to advise on all aspects of employment law and terms and conditions of employment, including advice on National and Local Government Can discuss and demonstrate a proven record of delivery Member of CIPD Competent MS Office user, specifically with reporting functions Must have a minimum of 3 years experience of working within an HR role, ideally at an adviser level Attributes; Confident in supporting, advising and sometimes challenging managers Confident and articulate communicator (orally and in writing) Politically sensitive and able to develop effective relationships Able to see the bigger picture Good business acumen and focus with the ability to think laterally Excellent organisational skills Flexible to change Able to work at a fast, accurate pace, ensuring no detail is missed Ability to maintain confidentiality This is a part time opportunity working 22.5 hours per week over 3 days. These 3 days can be flexible to suit the ideal candidate. You will need to be able to start on Tuesday 28th August for a hand over with the existing HR partner and be able to work until the end of the year, when the perm opportunity is likely to be filled.
