We are looking for candidates who have previous high volume, fast paced warehouse shift management with previous experience of warehouse automation and voice pick. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager the role will involve running the full shift overseeing goods in, put away, sortation and dispatch and to help you achieve this you will oversee a team of Section Managers, Supervisors, Team Leaders and Warehouse Operatives. This is a very fast paced high volume role working within a 2.2 million square foot distribution centre that has 1200 staff on site per shift. The role will primarily involve the management and operational activities of the shift whilst observing and maintaining systems and methods of working to ensure the sound operational efficiency of the shift. We are looking for candidates who have previous high volume, fast paced warehouse shift management with previous experience of warehouse automation and voice pick. Accident investigation is also a primary part of this role therefore all candidates must have in-depth experience of this. Candidate must also be able to effectively manage multiple teams in accordance with company policies and procedures and be responsible for the training, coaching and mentoring of team members. Main Duties • Maintain operational activities of the shift to include, training, staffing levels, budgets and financial goals • Plan and develop systems & procedures to improve efficiency of shift • Analyse and document business processes and problems and develop solutions • Manage Staff in accordance to company policies and procedures • Conduct interviews and train and coach new starters and assist with career development • Conduct staff performance reviews and work with HR with any grievance & disciplinary matters • Responsibility for staff holidays, break overtime and absence management and shift rotations • Schedule and conduct shift meeting with staff and communicate clearly with supervisors and management • Always ensure a safe working environment for all employees and maintain the companies’ health and safety policies.
