Transport Manager Circa £30,000 £32,000 Knowsley, Liverpool Monday Friday Key Responsibilities: To achieve the transport objective and continuously improve the customer service offer To oversee the daily running of the Transport Department, ensuring customer requirements are met and that systems are adhered to at all times To liaise with the Warehouse/Nightshift Manager to ensure the smooth running of Distribution operations To manage the Driver workforce to ensure the efficient use of vehicles and other resources To ensure efficient dispatch of vehicles and complete driver debriefs To maintain the vehicle fleet in good working order, whilst adhering to all current legislation Ensure compliance with all Transport and Food Hygiene Regulations Act as Branch CPC Holder Maximize the efficiency of the Transport Function Report to and liaise closely with the Senior Management Team Ensure the effective operation of the Transport function, driving continuous improvements & further develop integrated transport solutions to deliver a premium & cost effective service Manage the performance of the fleet in order to ensure maximum operational efficiency and service excellence To plan the daily workload for our fleet, maximizing vehicle utilisation whilst serving our customers to the high standard Required Skills: CPC Qualification (essential) Previous fresh produce / FMCG experience within a Transport Management role (essential) Supervisory or Transport Management experience of a fleet of circa 20 vehicles Have demonstrable leadership experience and be an effective communicator across all levels H&S, Compliance and Fleet management experience Previous transport planning experience Possess the ability to proactively plan ahead and work on your own initiative An up to date knowledge of WTD, tachographs and related legislation Excellent customer service and influencing skills A cando, positive, forward thinking attitude Strong people management skills Personal Traits Required: Fantastic telephone manner Positive & enthusiastic Motivated & energetic Determined Selfmanaging & selfmotivated Good written and communication skills Good administration, accuracy and attention to detail Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.

Transport Clerk - VR/19476 Company & Role- A freight forwarding and Logistics company is looking for a transport clerk to join their growing team based in West Thurrock. Duties- You will deal with daily shipping deadlines, problem solving queries from freight forwarders both internationally and in the UK regarding shipment of imported and exported goods You will process import documentation from suppliers You will liaise with customers, suppliers and external warehousing & forwarders to arrange & secure deliveries via customer specific systems and adhering requirements You will maintain & update internal spread sheets and databases You will have the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy whilst maintaining a quick and efficient work ethic Experience- Ideally a years experience within logistics if not this position is ideal for someone whos looking to get into logistics, a school leaver or someone returning to work Must be good at problem solving Dealing with customers on a professional manner * Must have the ability to multi task In return: You will receive a competitive salary and 20 days paid holiday
