This is an exciting opportunity to join their specialist teams at their Luton and Milton Keynes sites to provide Transport Administration Support. The Role: The role as transport admin support is a demanding role. If approached dynamically with innovation and enthusiasm, the transport admin support position role can be greatly fulfilling, providing experience to the transport department with an array of varied tasks and duties. Key Responsibilities: The transport admin support role is responsible for getting the correct quantities of materials to their required location within a given time limit and as a result must effectively organise and manage a team of drivers and vehicles, locally and surrounding Company Sites. As a transport admin support person, you will be responsible for personnel, monitoring their progress and being their first point of contact should a problem arise making communication skills vital. These communication skills are also vital in the development of customer relationships, managing questions and complaints calmly and decisively. The transport admin support position is responsible for organising and overseeing all Health & Safety checks and routine vehicle checks and adhering to both company and statutory requirements. The transport admin support position must also be involved in strategic development working closely with the Transport and Logistics Manager and the maintaining of any administrative records, regularly communicating with The Companys Site Managers to ensure a smooth operation. You must also be aware of all transport legislation and procedure to ensure company compliance. Key Skills & Experience: You will be required to hold relevant qualifications relevant to Transport Administration, Transport Reporting, and an understanding of transport / legislation regulations. A transport admin support person requires knowledge and understanding of all areas of transportation, some budgets and financial controls and relevant fleet controls. The transport admin support person must be able to efficiently work within a high volume transport operation. A transport admin support person requires strong communication and people management skills being able to cultivate strong business relationships with other parts of the business, e.g. Sales and other Company Sites. The transport admin support person must have a sound understanding of basic numeracy skills as this position requires involvement in route planning, efficiencies and the calculation of weights and measures. Due to the high level of machinery and the importance of time constraints, a transport admin support person must also be safety conscious with a full knowledge of the transport operations and maintenance and be detail conscious with regards to the vehicles themselves and daily route planning. The transport admin support person must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Excel. Are you a Transport Planner who enjoys working nights? We have a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the UKs leading warehouse and transport companies as a Traffic Planner based in Droitwich. Salary £23k per annum, working 6pm6am 4 on/ 4 off. As Transport Planner you will be working with customers, suppliers and drivers as well as other traffic desks planning routes, and scheduling delivery times to ensure the smooth running of the operation. You will conduct driver briefs and debriefs, plan schedules, journeys and loads and work proactively to reduce late deliveries and missed time slots. You will have previous experience as a Traffic Planner/ Transport Planner, have good Excel skills with the ability to use a planning system such as Road Runner. A good understanding of transport regulations, good geographical knowledge and the ability to make decisions quickly are all required to be successful in this role. Reporting to the Regional Transport Manager, the Transport Manager will provide a high quality, cost effective transportation service in line with both their colleagues in operations and sales departments alike. This role will ensure that vehicles and staff all conform with every aspect of legal legislation and company policy and will be totally compliant with all necessities of the companies Operators licence, at the same time ensuring that all depot requirements are taken into consideration to provide a balanced service which will delivers within company SLAs on a daily basis. Main Responsibilities To ensure all deliveries and collections are made on time and in compliance with current procedures. Daily resource to be planned for all trunking of mail across the network in line with volume and IMC/trunk forecasts. Able to work with an individual P & L account for their respective depot and to prepare all weekly cost reports in line with this. To recruit drivers and office staff within the agreed establishment levels and effectively managing staff holidays and sickness. To ensure all transport staff comply with the Mail integrity requirements and any relevant checks are regularly updated. To ensure that all vehicles are maintained in line with current O licence and company requirements, be it through company workshop or remotely. Monitor and carry out performance reviews with subcontractors, introducing a better service or more cost effective supplier where appropriate. To encourage and assist in the development of each member of staff using the relevant training processes available. To ensure all staff comply with company Health and Safety policy. Compliance of all administration aspects within the transport department in the depot are adhered to. To ensure all driving staff comply with all regulations in line with driving hours/WTD and road legalities. Reporting and investigating of all accidents and carry out all follow up action where appropriate. Carry out disciplinary hearings when necessary in relation to all transport staff and with the assistance of HR. To development the transport department in conjunction with the Regional Transport Manager. Manage agency including all mail integrity training and accredited checks whilst controlling costs within workload dictation. To assist in controlling the van fleet within the depot in conjunction with the centralised planning department. Supervisory / Management Responsibilities Management of all staff with in the depot transport organisation. Management of all day to day working within the depot transport. Manage the correct use of Health and Safety with in the depot transport staff. Liaise with Client Services and operations to promote excellent quality of service through cost effectiveness.
