Long estabished manufacturing company are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the correct Administration and Movement of the incoming, outgoing parts and movement of items in warehouse. You are also responsible for working with team colleagues on the overall Warehouse Strategy. This is a pro-active role making decisions that directly affect the Warehouse and general parts and product flow throughout the company, working with team colleagues. We would expect the Warehouse supervisor to have ideas to improve the warehouse layout and strategy. Daily Duties Keep Warehouse tidy and Organised - This will automatically help the rest of your role. - Fill all gaps in racking or part full pallets consolidated. - Keep fire escape route clear at all times - Know where all stock is stored. Factory Master (FM) is the computer tool that they use for this. Book-in and record deliveries - Deliveries and QC passed rack items put away in correct location on day (within 24h) - to departments or on racking. - Booking in of daily deliveries. Checking paperwork against goods delivered for correct parts and quantity. Raising any issue with the Parts Coordinator. - Ensure deliveries are correctly labelled. - Delivery notes given to QC Coordinator. - Taking dockets from the departments and adding the locations and batch numbers of the parts. Allocating to warehouse staff to pick. - If the batch number requested is not available, moving the correct one on FM and checking other batch numbers exist. Investigate if the numbers do not look correct and highlighting any issues. - Stock rotation, first in / first out where possible. If not to let the Purchasing Coordinator know why. - Ensuring that dockets are signed by department supervisors before movements are made on FM. If there are queries on the parts or quantities, work to sort these. - Work with Department supervisors/Production Coordinator to manage product flow, and exchange bulk stock as required. Overall Responsibility - Planning overall warehouse storage Strategy with Joint Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Coordinator and Parts Coordinator. Understanding fast and slow moving items and therefore minimising stock movements. Ensuring the area is being used efficiently, assist in decision making if improvements are needed - Understanding of receipt and issue locations on FM and understanding the consequences on the system of not having parts in the correct locations. - Checking of QC Passed rack and moving this stock into the warehouse locations promptly. Other Duties - Assisting with packing of shipments, signing off that all items are correctly packed, when time allows. - Assisting with physical movements, when time allows or urgent. - Ordering of warehouse sundries. - Holiday cover for other members of the team. Key Skills - Previous experience in similar busy Warehouse role essential, ideally in a manufacturing company. - Instinctive knowledge of good practise and common sense for Warehousing. - Good communications skill with many different disciplines. Self-motivated, able to plan, organise and prioritise workload for yourself and team. - Good IT skills including Microsoft Office, especially Excel. - Well organised with attention to detail and calm, analytical and methodical approach. - Excellent communication skills working with different disciplines. - Forklifts - High Reach would be an advantage.
