Scope of Employment Core Scope of Work Presales Design & Proposal Development The engineer will be required to work as part of the design team in the creation of written proposal documents, design drawings, equipment selection and creation of technical schedules as part of both pre and post sales activities. A broad ability to solve electrical, mechanical and I.T related challenges is key to successful data centre design. PQQ Tender Reponses To provide high quality written responses to prequalification and technical tender questions. Negotiate and raise orders with specialist subcontract suppliers. Best value should always be obtained whilst balancing these against the company goal of high quality installations. Raise orders with suppliers, managing delivery dates in line with the project programs. Maximize profitability on any given project. This will be achieved through supplier negotiation, management of materials/ minimizing wastage, phased deliveries, maximum efficiency of labour etc. Post Sales Design Responsibility to project deployment, is one based on preplanning and predesign activities. Tender issue kit lists and drawings need to be developed into detailed equipment schedules and Preconstruction issue drawings. It will be the engineers responsibility to assist the project manager to develop this documentation and seek approval, before issuing construction drawings for actual project deployment. Documentation will include Visio drawings, schematics, schedules, equipment layouts, DB schedules as required for any project. Qualifications Essential Related engineering qualification, to degree level for example in mechanical, electrical or electronic discipline. To have excellent writing skills. Production of high quality proposals and responses to PQQ and tender documents form a core part of the position. Candidates must demonstrate their writing abilities. To be highly motivated and career focused, to hold an uncompromising view on the achievement of excellence. To be prepared to work hard Good communication skills Technical Capability Work under pressure and deliver to timescales PC and Microsoft Fully Literate Good literacy/documentation creation skills Advantage Use of AutoCAD or Visio Drawing Package Driving License Work experience in related industry.
