Automotive, Motor Trade Job: Head of IT IT Jobs in Cambridgeshire Our well respected and customer/employee driven client is looking for an experienced Head of IT to be based in their Head Office in Huntingdon, but be able to travel to all the sites if and when required, you will be entitled to the use of a Company Vehicle for this purpose. You will be responsible for an immediate team of three IT professionals, together with supporting the technical needs of a wider network of around 950 employees. The Group consists of 21 businesses, located across seven counties. These businesses are of varying sizes and, as such, their IT requirements are of varying scales and complexities. Included within these are a vast Fleet function and a Central Call Hub. In addition to the daily needs of these businesses, as registered via the Company's IT Helpdesk, you will have executive responsibility for new installations; and the analysis of new software opportunities. Your key responsibilities will include: •Evaluating user needs and system functionality, to ensure that IT facilities remain fit for purpose. •Scheduling software upgrades and security backups. •Ensuring that software licensing laws are adhered to at all times. •Offering constructive and professional support to the network of the Groups employees. •Securing data from internal and external sources, with particular focus upon GDPR. •Managing 'crisis' situations, which may include complex hardware or software problems. •Coordinating the workload and workflow of the IT Department effectively. •Ensuring that the IT Helpdesk function is working effectively and efficiently. •Providing appropriate reports to the Senior Management Team.
