Their team is growing, so our client is on the lookout for a talented Senior Network Engineer to join their Managed Services team in Solihull. The purpose of the Senior Network Engineer will be: To work within the Managed Services team, working with hardware, communications and operating systems, provide a prompt, friendly and professional service to IT users in relation to network administration / documentation / testing. The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for supporting all network-based activities in the business. This includes planning and installation of new hardware, monitoring LAN/WAN uptime, ensuring high network availability, resolving complex client related problems, and designing and implementing all VPN/WAN links within the business and with external clients. The Senior Network Engineer responsibilities include: - Provide vision and strategy for our client’s internal and hosting network - Responsible for all functions relating to the planning, installation, configuration and operation of the hosting network infrastructure - Monitor network links for performance within set thresholds - Troubleshoot and repair network related problems - Identify network configuration and/or performance irregularities. Develop procedures to respond to these irregularities in a timely manner - Create/Maintain Network support documentation - Ensure entire network is properly monitored. Ensure that alerts regarding network outages are addressed in a timely manner - Implement and support network Infrastructure - Maintain a high level of functionality and availability of all VPN links, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and WAN links - Document and improve existing processes and procedures - Serve as a technical resource by providing support to multiple projects and business units - Provide technical assistance and support, either formal or informal, for more junior team members and mentor new and inexperienced team members as required A career with our client: Our client believes the most valuable asset for any business is the people it employs.
