Support Worker Part time

Medacs Healthcare are in partnership with a nationwide care provider to recruit Part time Support Workers in Oldhurst, Cambridgeshire at their residential unit Oaktrees for adults with learning and/or physical disabilities. The main aim of a Support Worker is to help service users with learning or physical disabilities to learn to live as independently as possible, by identifying and supporting them in their particular areas of need. The role is a permanent position and there are part time contracts available for 10 or 30 hours a week, £7.50 p/h. Shift times between 07.00 21.30 however specific rota patterns will be discussed further at interview. Main Duties and Responsibilities: To participate in the daytoday implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and other whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality To support service users with the preparation of meals, laundry duties, cleaning and social events To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required To work as part of a team to provide high quality care Successful Candidates for this role will have: NVQ in Health & Social Care or be willing to work towards The ability to keep calm under pressure Confidence to work alone or work well in a team Excellent communication skills Passion to support and work with vulnerable adults Desire and commitment to high standards of safeguarding Experience in Support Work is desired but not essential a genuine commitment to help support those with a variety of disabilities is the key to a successful candidate!
