To provide managerial cover for all functions and shifts, including on a rotating basis, as required. Principal Accountabilities:Strictly adhere to current procedures and identify where improvements to process can be made to benefit the warehouse & client.Record accurately and in agreed timescale timesheets for temporary staff. Update timesheets daily to record absence and holidays for permanent staff.Conduct daily staff briefing where appropriateCarry out annual appraisals with all relevant warehouse operatives.To monitor punctuality, attendance, performance and conduct of all staff, using the company disciplinary procedures where appropriate, in liaison with the company HR representative.To ensure warehouse operatives have the appropriate skills ensuring training takes place where necessary.Use internal issues log effectively raising, completing actions required and investigations within given timescales.Ensure all external communication is conducted timely, accurately and professionally.To ensure effective and timely communication to other Departments and Managers.Ensure that all Company procedures are adhered toComply with all Health & Safety guidelines both Company and statutoryAny other duties deemed reasonable to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Team and Warehouse. Due to changes within their business, they now have an urgent requirement for an experienced Senior Warehouse Supervisor to join them on a night shift. As Warehouse Supervisor for this company, you must have previous experience as a Senior Warehouse Supervisor working and leading a night shift. As part of your duties as Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following - please note that this is not an exhaustive list: - Oversee day to day operations in a busy distribution warehouse - Plan staffing levels and prepare weekly rosters - Assess and report on employee performance - Provide daily briefings to the warehouse team - Oversee stock receipt, storage and despatch - Manage and update training records - Liaise with customers via telephone and email - Liaise with the transport department and be aware of any transport related issues - Ensure compliance with company policies and Health & Safety procedures - Provide cover in the transport office if required - Perform yard Marshall duties when required As Warehouse Supervisor, you must have previous experience working as a Night Shift Warehouse Supervisor, possess a valid driving licence and be able to work on your own initiative. Warehouse Supervisor Portsmouth £20K Permanent We are looking to recruit an experienced Warehouse Supervisor for our client's warehouse. The person must be able to control daily work flow to ensure the timely and accurate picking, packing and dispatching of customer orders as well as the incoming and outgoing of goods and the processing of returns. The successful person will also be responsible for the orderliness of the warehouse stock and accuracy of inventory records in the in-house computer system and therefore some experience of stock control is preferable.
