Primary Function: - Overall responsibility for the Warehouse, including all warehousing needs, material inspection, associated paperwork, health and safety. - Take whatever actions are required within the parameters of the company procedures to ensure compliance with the daily packing and dispatch of customer orders, often to prescribed deadlines. Main Responsibilities: - To carry out the various tasks associated with the Warehouse, such as heavy load manual handling, picking/packing, stock loading/unloading, goods inspection, general premises keeping duties. - Using hand tools to assemble/fabricate purpose made wooden packaging crates to suit different sized and shaped loads. - Drive fork lift truck. - Ensure material inspection procedures are consistently followed to comply with the company's high quality standards. - Co-operate with other company employees regarding stock movement and packaging needs - Organise and participate in stock checking exercises - Attend to the processing and raising of both computer generated and handwritten paperwork - Manage warehouse packaging material stock levels - Assist in the Workshop with the processing of materials including the drilling and cutting of aluminium profiles and sheets. - Maintain a flexible and positive approach to the many varied responsibilities detailed in the written company procedures or indeed any other task that may be reasonably required of you. Necessary Experience, Personal Qualities, and Skills: - Good English language verbal and writing skills, and mental counting ability - Fork Lift Truck driving experience, preferably Reach Truck - Good understanding of manual handling practices - Experience of assembling/fabricating purpose made crates, pallets, etc. - General warehousing abilities - Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, - Ability to work within a team, but manage one's own workload - Organised and a logical thinker - Ability to multi task and be adaptable to the varied tasks required - Proactive, positive, and flexible approach to work - Self-motivated and able to use own initiative - Ability & willingness to work in an unheated environment - This role would ideally suit a physically fit and able second/third jobber who has worked within an industrial warehouse environment. You will then be tasked with restocking the trolleys for the next flight by locating the stock in our bonded warehouse and then rebuilding the trolley to each specific airlines requirement. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a global company with locations throughout the UK. Ensure that high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and housekeeping are maintained within all warehouse areas both internally and externally
Establish and control the warehouse KPIs to ensure effective and efficient management of the warehouse operation
Manage the warehouse capacity through proactive control of material storage and also the timely destruction of rejects and items with customer approval for destruction
Effectively manage materials held in offsite storage ensuring appropriate quality controls and procedures are in place
Preparation and regular review of standard operating procedures relating to own areas of responsibilities
Assist and departmental training and completion of training documentation
Any other duties which may properly be assigned to this post



To be successful as the warehouse manager, you need to meet the following criteria:
Good all round knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
Have a background in GMP and specialist material handling
Warehouse supervisory/management experience
Ability to prioritise work in order to fulfil the company needs
Be an effective communicator, have a logical thought process and be able to influence other through reasoned discussion
Must be able to work on own initiative
Must be IT literate
Have a positive attitude to work and towards other colleagues
Must be a team player
Have the ability to coach and develop subordinates and peers by acting as a mentor when required
Must be capable of creative problem solving and encourage continuous improvement initiatives
