Transport Shift Manager (Nights) £35,000 £42,000 (depending on experience) 4 on 4 off Nights 12 Hour Shifts Coventry, West Midlands Are you a Transport Shift Manager experienced within Chilled, Frozen, Ambient and/or FMCG distribution? The opening of a c210,000 sq ft distribution centre this October in Coventry is the result of continued organic growth and will support this leading 3PLs customers everexpanding network of operations. Key Responsibilities: Ensure that all office staff are fully trained and competent to carry out tasks assigned to them. Directly oversee the training of all TSMs / Stand Ups including maintenance of the training files. Manage the time frames of any disciplinary/grievance issues to ensure compliance with the agreed SLAs. Ensure that any underperformance issues are appropriately managed, including the credit process. Monitor absence and RTWs processes, check that these are completed and that absence is being managed as per Company policy and process. Support and facilitate annual appraisal cycle, ensure these are carried out on all Transport staff on a six monthly basis. Assist with the TSMs to ensure they have provided cover for all annual leave and absence within the Office and Shunter teams. Deputise for the Transport Operations Manager when requested. Build relationships with the Customer services team to ensure excellent service to our customer. Provide robust feedback to all Customer Service teams in line with the SLA requirements. Liaise with McDonald restaurant employees via customer services, deal with internal issues/queries, run reports, conduct data analysis, update KPIs. Plan, manage and control labour usage to achieve budget productivity levels and financial spend. Ensure that Time and Attendance information is accurate and complete. Maintain overview of all weekly purchase order processing. Ensure that there is an effective debriefing process, to capture and record all pertinent information relating to each driver/journey on a daily basis. Act on this information to ensure that improvements are made. Evaluate actual journey duration versus plan, and implement improvement. The preparation and maintenance of weekly financial figures. Ownership, accuracy and timely completion of all operational data, which can be audited and verified. Use Tachomaster to ensure complete driver and vehicle compliance. Work with Transport team to ensure all relevant KPIs are met, including the monitoring of KPLs and the performance of vehicles and drivers to improve fuel economy. Review of ontime performance, and liaise with Scheduling to make any changes necessary. Required Skills & Attributes: CPC (desirable) Experience of scheduling systems (Paragon) Previous experience of managing teams in a similar FMCG operation to include experience of unionised environments. Exceptionally high levels of health and safety standards and food quality and integrity. Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes to meet the demands of the business and those placed on MBUK by our customer. A team player, who works effectively and proactively with the team, building positive working relationships. Able to organise and prioritise workloads in a high pressured environment. Good communication skills, with the ability to deal with individuals at all levels either internally or externally.
