Web developer is required to understand user requirements and how they apply to new application features. The developer will work with the development team and other team members within Group IT to set specifications and write high quality code to meet business requirements. Responsibilities: To design and write code for functional programs and applications in accordance with agreed deadlines Ensure accurate understanding of client requirements and what this means in application features to be delivered Agree and design specifications in conjunction with development team Perform unit testing before passing to QA Troubleshoot bugs and issues with application(s) Evaluate existing applications to improve code, update and add new features Contribute to the development of technical documents to represent application design and code Skills/Experience Required; Proven experience up to five years as Web developer Experience in interpreting user requirements to design and develop application features Capable of working with Agile and Waterfall approaches to software delivery Deep knowledge of WordPress Ability to code in PHP Experience with coding against databases in particular MySQL or MariaDB Experience with using git via command line in a team environment Good knowledge of HTML 5, CSS and clientside Javascript Advantageous Experience: Experience with bash Experience with Docker Knowledge of SCSS Use of linting tools, such as PHPCS Ability to use Photoshop or similar graphics software Previously used WordPress VIP Go hosting The successful candidate will be required to work at my clients central London office, but potentially have to travel to an office in East Sussex up to 2 days per week.
